Integrative Counselling Psychologist

I believe that each individual has the ability to tap into their resilience, resources and social support to overcome the challenges they face and foster personal growth. Furthermore, I deem it essential to create an environment that allows the client to be who they truly are and express themselves as they wish to. Thus, by fostering a genuine encounter with my clients, and establishing trust, they are given a space where they can feel comfortable, accepted and understood. I value the individuality of each client and their unique process of discovering, developing and strengthening their resources and competences within the therapeutic context.

I am a integrative Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I predominantly work from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic (CBT) perspective, however, it is vital that the therapeutic approach best suits the client and therefore other modalities are consulted to tailor an individualised therapeutic plan. I enjoy working with clients from all ages and backgrounds; and addressing a broad array of difficulties.

I obtained my undergraduate, Honours, and Master’s Degrees in Psychology at the North West University, Potchefstroom. I completed my internship at The Counselling and Career Development Unit at the University of Witwatersrand. During my internship I gained valuable experience by working with various clients, all with diverse backgrounds and challenges. I continuously develop my experience and knowledge through personal supervision and professional courses.
