I believe that each individual has a wealth of resources, talents and skills that they may have lost sight of during the course of their own life journeys and difficulties. Or that they may not have noticed or valued these resources before. Thus each individual has the ability to change their reality and overcome life’s challenges. Therapy is therefore valued facilitate this process change and discover these abilities on the journey. Every client is unique and every life experience is unique, together we can walk your journey of healing and self-discovery.
I am an integrative Counselling Psychologist who works primarily form a Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic (CBT) perspective. I have also completed training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, accredited by The Albert Ellis Institute, based in New York City, as well as training from international accredited The Beck Institute in CBT. However, I incorporate and make use of the therapeutic modalities that would best fit my client and enable them to develop to their full potential. I have a passion for working with a range of clients from all ages and backgrounds, addressing a wide ranges of difficulties. I have a specific interest in working with anxiety and anxiety related disorders but have experience in working with a range of difficulties.
I obtained my undergraduate and Honours Degrees in Psychology with distinction at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. I then completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Witwatersrand followed by an internship at The Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development (PsyCaD). I am currently completing my doctorate degree in Psychology through the University of Witwatersrand. My training and work experience has allowed me to develop a significant skill set, along with therapeutic techniques to accomplish effective therapeutic results. I have also contributed to articles for some of South Africa’s leading magazines and been a guest speaker on leading radio stations.
